The Powunity tracking system is the first GPS tracker we have seen which is genuinely a very reliable & effective product, & one which we are truly happy to recommend!
It will accurately display your eBikes location on a map, as well as provide information on your recent journeys – route, distance, time, average speed etc. – the best part is it charges through your eBike battery, so you don’t need to worry about keeping it topped up separately. It’s back-up battery ensures that you can keep tracking it for up to a week even if the battery has been removed from the bike.
Usefully, it features a ‘lock mode’ – through the app you can set the tracker so that it sends a push notification to your phone as soon as your eBike starts to move – ideal for when you have your bike parked out on the street!
It even allows you to add a description of the bike to generate a ‘Bike Passport” – essentially a PDF with the serial number, photo, description, & any distinctive features, along with GPS coordinates and time stamp of when the bike was taken, & its last known location which you can pass on to the Gardaí in the event that it is stolen.
The tracker is compatible with any Bosch or Yamaha eBike, costs €220, & includes 12 months of tracking included for free. It’s a charge of €3.99 per month thereafter, but this is month by month – no contract, so you can cancel any time, or put it on pause if you do not need it active over the winter for example.
