We’re thrilled to announce our inaugural Cargo Bike Festival, set to take place on the 20th of May at the beautiful Dun Laoghaire, Dublin. As the home of change, we’re constantly seeking ways to promote sustainable transportation, and what better way to do that than through a fun-filled family event centred around cargo bikes?
For those unfamiliar, cargo bikes are rapidly gaining popularity as a green, efficient alternative to cars. They are a fantastic way to transport goods, groceries, or even your kids, all while reducing your carbon footprint and improving your fitness!
At GreenAer, we’ve always been big proponents of the cargo bike movement. With the Cargo Bike Festival, we aim to bring together a community of people passionate about cycling, sustainability, and, most importantly, fun!
So, what can you expect at the festival?
Firstly, we have a host of kids’ activities, including face painting and balloon modelling, provided by PartyKidz Productions from 11 am to 1 pm. We’re also offering free ice cream to all attendees, because what’s a festival without a sweet treat?
For the competitive spirits, we’ve organised a friendly cargo bike race. It’s open to everyone, so get ready to pedal and may the best rider win! After the race, we’ll have a cargo bike show-and-tell segment, a perfect opportunity to learn more about these versatile machines and their potential to change how we travel.
The highlight of the day will undoubtedly be the fancy-dress Cargo Bike Parade. We’re encouraging everyone to get creative and decorate their bikes in the most imaginative way possible. There are prizes to be won, so don’t hold back!
The Cargo Bike Festival is more than just an event; it’s a celebration of a movement towards a greener and more sustainable future. We can’t wait to share this day with all of you.

- 11:00 am – Festival Opens: Welcome to the Cargo Bike Festival! Meet fellow bike enthusiasts, explore the festival grounds, and get ready for a day of fun!
- 11:15 am – Kids Activities Begin: Provided by PartyKidz Productions, offering face painting and balloon modelling from 11am – 1pm.
- 12:00 pm – Music Starts: Groove to the beats of our live band as you enjoy the festival vibes.
- 1:00 pm – Cargo Bike Race: Get your adrenaline pumping in our friendly cargo bike race. Open to all, this fun competition is sure to be a highlight!
- 2:00 pm – Cargo Bike Show and Tell: Explore the versatility of cargo bikes in our Show and Tell segment. Learn more about these incredible machines and how they can change the way you travel.
- 3:00 pm – Cargo Bike Parade: A fancy-dress parade to show off your decorated cargo bikes! We’re awarding prizes for the best ones so get creative and let your bikes shine!
- 4:00 pm – Festival Ends: Thank you for joining us! Don’t forget to collect your free ice cream on your way out.
